Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) Opportunities Workshop and Intern Symposium

Join us for the 2025 Department of Defense (DoD) Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) Opportunities Workshop and Intern Symposium—an event focused on expanding awareness of DoD opportunities, facilitating collaboration, and promoting engagement in DoD initiatives that support national security functions. This free, two-day event brings together faculty, students, and institutional stakeholders to explore research and workforce development opportunities through presentations, panels, and networking sessions. Attendees will gain insight into DoD programs, learn how to prepare competitive proposals and applications, and discuss how institutional research efforts can align with the President’s Executive Orders and DoD priorities.

• Raise awareness of DoD opportunities, facilitate collaboration, and promote engagement in DoD initiatives that support national security functions.
• Discuss the President’s Executive Orders and DoD priorities and how the research programs will maintain alignment.
• Provide a live demonstration of the NEW DoD SciTechCONNECT portal —an online platform designed to foster connections, inspire new ideas, and drive impactful solutions.

• Connect directly with DoD program staff and agency representatives
• Attend panel discussions on funding opportunities, partnerships, and program priorities
• Learn about internships, fellowships, and research programs available to students and faculty
• Hear from peers engaged in current DoD-supported research projects
